In Our Rose Petal World

In our Rose Petal World
We dance like fairies
around pink flowers
culling by the road
blue dry grasses
signaling an invite
from the Queen
of Queen Dom
for a snack
of meringue cookies
we all hate
but we go anyway
because they are taking pictures
and they are
also serving
strawberry soda
which
we love
In our Rose Petal World
froth is gold
gold is fire
fire is home
drizzling a sky christmas
in a waiting fell
In our Rose Petal World
we ring around
stampeding catharsis scent
blank to drums
wrapping this moment
around our fingers
path so easily marked
and barking mad
is just okay
In our Rose Petal World
naps are essential
covering our smooth flat
memories of past
setting aflame
gigantic stars
eggs clawing out
In our Rose Petal World
eating rose petals
is good for the body
jars of albatross
pour out
beating
monsoon wings
in broken pulse
of clarity
In our Rose Petal World
we are all sisters
and expand in passion
life and bond
running green
amongst leaves
drying paint on our
native flesh
In our Rose Petal World
our home is safe
our father is home
free and alive
and we'll write a poem
about this tomorrow
In our Rose Petal World
stellar prayer worriers warriors
women in the branches
looking down upon
the lies
of the heart
never forgetting
the moment we were free
wishing
we didn't want to do
a cover version
with our lover
called, "I'd Rather Go Blind."
knowing
he'll just do it
and all his other hieroglyphs
with another
because we do not trust
or because we trust too much
take us back
take us back to
the day
we had pink rose petals
in our eyes
take us back to
Our Rose Petal World
